We watched Super Size Me in class as part of our section on Obesity. Highly entertaining, I give it two thumbs up. The "Artistic Genius" and Big Mac guy were both a little disturbing...I rarely if ever eat at McDonalds and thought I might never eat there again after watching the movie, but I found myself craving a burger that very evening. I was still craving one the next day so I purchased and devoured a Big & Tasty, all 470 calories, and it was tasty. Although, I did add extra salt, pickles and ketchup. No surprise.

ha ha! I remember when the movie first came out and a lot of people had that same reaction - burger, NOW! I don't think I was craving a burger after I watched it but I can't remember, it's been a while.
ReplyDeleteAlso - you added extra salt??? I've never heard of anyone adding salt to their burger. Kind of makes me gag.
Yes, the salt addition is strange and unusual...but then again you yourself are strange and unusual. (name that quote...anyone?)
ReplyDeleteThat movie is good. I don't remember wanting a burger afterward but that is hilarious!
My consumption of french fries has been tainted...although I still eat them on occasion. I too, rarely eat McDonalds or Wendy's etc. But I enjoy it when I do.
I like the 99 cent doubles. It appeals to the cheapskate in me, and it's a 100 yard walk from most malls I work in.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of adding salt, Grandpa wanted oatmeal, and we had some of the flavored instant oatmeal packets. He shocked us by taking a super sugary cinnamon-roll-flavored packet and, without even tasting it, added not only salt but additional sugar. Weird.
I watched supersize and was kind of grossed out for a while. But I agree it was highly entertaining! I love your blog!
ReplyDeletejessi had to watch this movie one time too and she wanted a fast food for like a week after. it must be some weird reverse-psychology effect...
ReplyDeletelove your blog :)
