Blasted Tree!

The darn tree roots completely mangled one of the sprinkler heads causing me much trauma. 1. Not enough space to stick my hand in. 2. Sprinkler totally embedded in a huge root. It was quite the effort to cut away enough of the roots so that I could unscrew the darn thing and cap it off. Curses!

Totally used a plumbers wrench, spoon, saw, rubber gloves--everthing pictured--to chisel, yank and twist. It took me a very long time. The tree is just waiting to drop more of its nasty seeds.

  1. Remember Sondra - trees are our friends. Although have had challenges with other trees in your life haven't you....see to remember the uncharitable feelings you had about the tree on 13th South.

  2. Is this your precious...tree? The one you meticulously pruned until it reached 30 feet in like 2 years? The one that had a hornet living in the trunk, or something like that?

  3. Uncharitable feelings? Oh yes, I remember now. That thing was a weed. Sumac.

I would never call this tree precious. And that would be vigorously pruned, not meticulously. It does provide shade, but it litters the ground in all seasons, lifts the sidewalk and destroys my sprinkler system.

Hornets? Now you're just making stuff up.

There are better trees to be had.
