Japan-Nippon

Japan--that's an exonym. Nippon--that's an endonym.  Who knew there was terminology to describe the names we assign to foreign locations? But why do we use Tokyo and not Munchen? France but not Suomi?

  2. No, just used up all my creativity in the first year--said it all I guess. Actually, the busier I am the more I seem to post.

  3. Why do we not use the endonym's you ask? Because no one would know what your talking about. However my father in law uses only endonyms...you would be proud...everyone else just thinks he's crazy, and few know what he's talking about.
